Delete your account
You can delete your account and the information held with it at any time, and you never have to give a reason. There are two ways to do it: close the account yourself in the app, or ask us to.
Close it yourself, in the app
Open Forum Connect, go to the Membership tab and choose Close my account. You will be shown exactly what happens and asked to confirm. It takes effect immediately, across every forum you belong to, and you do not need to contact us at all.

Or ask us to do it
Email us from the address you use to sign in, or tell us which address the account uses. Say which forum you belong to if you know it. Use this if you no longer have the app, cannot sign in, or would simply rather we handled it.

Both routes remove exactly the same things. Everything below applies whichever one you use.
What gets deleted
- your account and sign-in details;
- your name and contact details;
- your membership of any forum;
- your notification choices;
- your event registrations and offers to help;
- your direct messages; and
- the link between you and anything you submitted.
What happens to what you contributed
Answers you gave to a forum’s survey or consultation are not deleted, but they stop being yours: your identity is removed and only the anonymous answer remains, counted alongside everyone else’s.
This is deliberate. A forum uses those answers to argue for changes to local services, often months later. Removing them would quietly rewrite evidence the forum has already presented on behalf of families. If you would rather your answers were removed as well, email us and say so: that one is your forum’s decision, not ours, so we pass it to them and tell you what they say.
Anonymous answers stay anonymous. They arrive separately from your identity, so they are already unlinked.
What we have to keep, and for how long
A small amount survives deletion because the law requires it. None of it is used to contact you or to rebuild your profile.

Who actually deletes it
Each Parent Carer Forum is the controller of its own members’ information; Sendsorta Limited runs the platform on its behalf. In practice that means closing your account in the app removes your information from the platform straight away and your forum is told; where a decision is genuinely your forum’s to make, we pass it to them. Either way you only ever need to ask once.
Deleting some of it, and keeping your account
You do not have to close your account to remove information. Some of this you can do yourself in the app, right now:
- Cancel an event registration. Open the event and cancel; the registration is removed.
- Withdraw an offer to help. If you volunteered for a working group or to be a representative, you can take that back.
- Change your notification choices at any time, without leaving the forum.
For anything else (a particular message, a survey answer, something recorded about you that is wrong) email us and say what you want removed or corrected. You do not need to justify the request, it does not affect your membership, and you do not need to close your account to make it.
